1. For storage of bamboo fungus, be careful not to put it in direct sunlight and high temperature and humidity, and please consume it as soon as possible when opened.
2. Recent bamboo fungus is slightly yellowish in colour (snow-white ones are artificially smoked with sulphur), and after a long period of storage, aged bamboo fungus will be more yellowish in colour.
3. Dried products should be soaked in lightly salted water for 10 minutes before cooking. Bamboo fungus should be cut off the head of the mushroom cap (closed end).
4. It can be eaten by obese, brain workers, insomniacs, patients with high blood pressure, high blood fat, high cholesterol, low immunity and tumour patients.
5. Bamboo fungus is cold in nature, so people with cold spleen and stomach should not eat too much.

7. Bamboo fungus is cold in nature and should not be eaten by people with cold spleen and stomach, or those with diarrhoea.
8. There is one kind of bamboo fungus which is yellow-skirted bamboo fungus, also called miscellaneous-coloured fungus, the colour of the fungus skirt is orange or lemon-yellow, and this kind of yellow-skirted bamboo fungus is poisonous and should not be consumed.
